The sensor can connect to the internet using a compatible Wi-Fi network available onsite. This connection can be configured in two ways:
-
During new sensor onboarding via the BlueZoo mobile app, after the sensor has been registered, a location name has been defined, and the timezone has been set.
-
For an existing sensor location, by selecting the "Configure Wi-Fi Connection" option in the mobile app, available after selecting a specific sensor location.
Steps to Configure Wi-Fi During Onboarding:
-
During the onboarding process in the mobile app, when you reach Step 3, you’ll be prompted to select the backhaul method. Choose Wi-Fi, then connect the USB power cord to the sensor.
-
Wait for all three LEDs on the sensor (one red and two green) to blink in unison.
-
If the LEDs do not blink in unison, the sensor was likely deployed previously. In that case, reset the sensor by holding down the reset button for 10 seconds.
Once the sensor restarts, it should begin broadcasting an access point indicated by all three LEDs blinking together. -
This LED pattern indicates that the sensor is broadcasting its access point. Tap “Next” in the app.
-
-
On the next screen, tap “Open Wi-Fi Settings” to connect your mobile phone to the sensor’s access point.
-
Look for an SSID in the format @BLUE-XX-XX, where XX-XX represents the last four characters of the sensor’s MAC address (printed on the underside of the sensor).
-
No password is required.
-
-
Once connected, return to the mobile app. The app will detect the connection and automatically proceed to the next screen.
-
From the list of available Wi-Fi networks, select the one you want the sensor to use and enter the network password.
-
Tap “Next” to complete the setup. The sensor will then connect to the internet using the selected Wi-Fi network.
