Before mounting a sensor, consider the following:
- Placement Height: Ideal mounting height varies depending on the screen type and location but generally ranges between 8 to 12 feet (2.5 to 3.7 meters) at a minimum.
- Optimal Viewing Angle: The sensor and its external antenna should be positioned to capture audience movement and dwell time without obstruction.
- Antenna Positioning:
- Dipole Antennas: Should be mounted vertically for optimal omnidirectional coverage.
- Directional Antennas: Should be aimed towards the audience area for focused signal reception.
- Avoid Interference: Keep sensors and antennas away from direct glare from screens, large metal surfaces, and other electronic equipment that may interfere with signal reception.
Power Source Access: Ensure proximity to a power outlet or an Ethernet connection if using Power over Ethernet (PoE).
